On July 16, 2026, the Ministry of Finance, the General Administration of Customs, and the State Administration of Taxation jointly issued the "Announcement on Adjusting the Consumption Tax Policy for Some Batteries" (No. 20 of 2026), which will gradually adjust the consumption tax policy for some battery products from September 1, 2026.

Recently, two group standard review meetings organized by relevant industry organizations, "General Technical Specifications for Sodium-ion Battery Energy Storage Systems" and "Technical Specifications for Daily Operation and Maintenance of Sodium-ion Batteries for Power Energy Storage Power Stations", were successfully held in Beijing (according to the "CSCS-CSTC Standardization Service Platform" report). The purpose of this meeting is to review these two regulations on sodium ionization.
